Odds and margins explained

Three odds formats, what a price says about chance, and how to see the margin we charge.

Three ways to write the same price

Decimal, American and fractional odds say the same thing. Pick the one you like in the Display menu at the top: every price on the site changes with it.

DecimalAmericanFractionalChance implied
1.50-2001/266.7%
1.95-10519/2051.3%
2.00+1001/150.0%
2.30+13013/1043.5%
3.40+24012/529.4%
9.00+8008/111.1%

A decimal price of 2.30 returns 2.30 for every 1 staked, stake included, so a winning 10 bet returns 23.00.

The margin: what we charge

Turn each price into the chance it implies (100 divided by the price) and add them up. A fair market adds up to exactly 100%. Ours adds up to a little more, and that extra is the margin, our fee for taking the bet. We show it on every market so you can compare.

Below, 2.30, 3.40 and 3.20 imply 43.5%, 29.4% and 31.3%. That is 104.1%, so the margin is 4.1%. With it removed the fair chances are 42%, 28% and 30%. A lower margin is a fairer price.

Parlays multiply

A parlay (accumulator) joins picks from different matches into one bet. Prices multiply, and every pick must win. Prices of 2.30, 1.88 and 1.50 multiply to 6.49, so a 10 stake returns 64.86.

It pays well because it is hard: three picks that each win about half the time all win about one time in eight. If a pick is void, it drops out and the rest are repriced.

Cash out

On an open bet you can often take a payment now instead of waiting. The offer is your stake times the price the bet would pay, times the chance the picks still to play win (taken from their current prices), less 5%. A bet you have just placed is offered a little under your stake. If the offer moves while you are looking, nothing is taken until you confirm the new amount.

Betting is entertainment, not income. Set a limit before you start, and take a break when you need one: limits and breaks.
