Football betting
Match result, goals, both teams to score, handicaps and the bet builder, with the maths shown.
Match result: home, draw or away
The simplest football bet. You pick one of three outcomes after 90 minutes plus stoppage time (extra time and penalties do not count). The three prices together always add up to a little more than 100%: that extra is our margin, and we show it on every market.
The picture shows likely line-ups, drawn on a pitch to scale. Formations are written from the goalkeeper out: 4-3-3 is four defenders, three midfielders, three forwards.
Goals: totals and both teams to score
Over/under bets on the total goals in the match. A line of 2.5 means three or more goals is over and two or fewer is under, so there is always a winner. A whole-number line such as 3 can land exactly: then the bet is void and your stake comes back.
Both teams to score wins on yes if each side scores at least once, whatever the final result.
Handicap, double chance and draw no bet
Handicap gives one side a head start or a deficit. With “Harbor City -1” the home score has one goal taken off before the result is read. A 2-1 win becomes 1-1 on the handicap, so the handicap draw wins, not the home side.
Double chance covers two of the three results (home or draw, either team to win, draw or away) at a shorter price. Draw no bet takes the draw out: if it ends level your stake is returned.
The bet builder, and why its price is lower than the product
A bet builder combines picks from different markets of one match. Picks in the same match are linked: if the home side wins, more goals are likely too. So multiplying the prices would overpay, and we lower it a little, 4% for every pick after the first, and never by more than 20%.
| Pick | Price |
|---|---|
| Harbor City to win | 2.30 |
| Over 2.5 goals | 1.90 |
| Prices multiplied | 4.37 |
| Same-match adjustment | −4% |
| Builder price | 4.20 |
Every pick of a builder must win. If one pick is void the whole builder is void and your stake is returned.
Betting is entertainment, not income. Set a limit before you start, and take a break when you need one: limits and breaks.
