Casino: how the odds work
Return to player, house edge and the three games, with nothing hidden.
Return to player, and the edge
Every casino game keeps a small share of what is staked over time. Return to player (RTP) is what comes back to players on average: 97.30% in roulette means 2.70% stays with the house. It is an average over millions of rounds, never a promise about one session: short runs swing a long way either side.
Roulette
A European wheel has 37 pockets: 1 to 36 and a single zero. Every bet pays so that the return is 36/37, whichever you pick.
| Bet | Pays | Chance of winning |
|---|---|---|
| A single number | 35 to 1 | 2.70% |
| A dozen or a column | 2 to 1 | 32.43% |
| Red, black, odd, even, low, high | 1 to 1 | 48.65% |
Zero loses every outside bet, which is where the edge comes from.
Slots
Three reels, one line. All three reels use the same 24-symbol strip, so we can count every one of the 13,824 combinations and work out the return exactly: 94.78%. The pay table is on the game page, and cherries pay even when they are not in a row.
Dice
A roll is a number from 0.00 to 99.99. You choose a chance from 1% to 95% and whether you win under or over. The price is 98 divided by your chance, so a 50% chance pays 1.96: the edge is a flat 2%, and you can see it in the price.
Provably fair
Before you play we show a fingerprint of our secret seed. After a round set, we reveal the seed and your browser replays every round to prove the results were not changed. The page Provably fair does it for you.
